METER CUTOFF

May 08, 2024

Bitter Creek requires customers to have a cutoff valve on their side of the meter (between meter and customer's property). Our valve (between the meter & the road) should never be used to turn off water. Doing so could cause the valve to leak or become weak and break. If this occurs you could be charged for repairs or your meter could by law (see Texas Administrative Code 24.163) be removed because of tampering with the meter. If you do not have a cutoff on your side please get one installed as close to the meter and as soon as possible.
